Magnificent being,
come out from behind yourself.
The old, tired stories
that strangle and keep you small
must be re-told
into mythic tales of stalks
and scarlet-chested sunbirds.
And as you emerge
from beneath the parched, holy ground
who you were before
will not recognize
the stranger you are becoming.
You will no longer yearn
to fly so close to the sun,
but will inhabit
perhaps for the first time,
your marvelous, Earthly body
of belonging.
