It will happen.
Life will break you
into 1000 pieces.

When it does,
remember your sacred work.

Don’t pretend everything is ok,
Don’t stuff the pain
into your belly
and walk on.

Strength is not found
in false notions
of composure.

Stop.
and imagine
your heart
as an open and holy passage,
see it wide and clear,
free of any and all obstructions,
and then let the agony
flow through,
again and again,
it flows,
let it flow,
let it be,
when the instinct
to shut down erupts,
breathe down
into the canal of the heart,
and keep it open,
let the pain move
through you.
