I don’t know much.
But I know we cannot look away.
We cannot get comfy
on our meditation cushion,
eyes gazing only inward.
No matter how tempting,
we cannot scroll fast, log off,
or avoid controversial conversations.
Not now.
We cannot seek to remain in silence
when screams of anguish
are banished
and die for a voice.
What is our practice for?
if not to cultivate a capacity
to forge into the darkness
while remaining anchored to the light?
