Finding your Soul’s Compass for the Coming Year
Inner intention instead of external resolution.
This is a simple way of explaining the meaning of Sankalpa.
Sankalpa, simply stated, is an intention formed by the heart and mind — a solemn vow or deeply internal promise to oneself.
In this ritual, we move through three stages:
1. Beginning with Enough
Instead of resolving from a place of lack or self-critique, we begin by remembering our inherent worthiness. We soften the grip of “shoulds” and let go of the shame that so often fuels traditional resolutions.
2. Continuing with Reflection
We create space to meet what has been stored but not seen, the unprocessed experiences, the buried desires, the voices drowned out by daily life. Reflection clears the inner clutter so the heart’s voice can rise.
3. Ending with Simple & Confident Clarity
True sankalpa emerges as clarity, a direction that feels wholehearted and deep. It is not about striving, but about aligning with what is already calling you forward.
Sankalpa is simple, honest, and quietly powerful.
It is the strength that comes not from force, but from inner steadiness, the kind that softens, listens, and then moves with clarity.
